The picturesque town of Merano in South Tyrol is a superb holiday destination which is internationally renowned for its Mediterranean temperatures even in winter. Hotel Terme Merano is the place to be if you're looking for relaxation and excellent spa facilities at the Terme Merano wellness paradise, which is connected to the hotel via an underground tunnel. The hotel boasts a modern atmosphere and design, and is a unique example of innovative architecture in South Tyrol. The house fits in harmonically with its surroundings which still retain their original charm which dates back to the 19th century. The hotel is proud of its original design, with lively colors, carpets made from cow leather, lamps made of deer antler and many other fascinating details for you to discover.
The rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished, so that you will feel right at home from the moment you arrive at the hotel. Most of the hotel's furniture was developed exclusively for the hotel, which well and truly lives up to its reputation as an original design hotel. The hotel features a total of 115 rooms and 24 suites, as well as the 5 Elements Spa area which includes indoor and outdoor pools and a garden. Other facilities include the Olivi restaurant (breakfast until 11 am, dinner from 07 pm until 09 pm) and the marvellous Cedar Lounge.
1) Mr Theiner, Manager of the Hotel Therme in Merano. How did you come across Moriggl in Glurns?
I've been here for two years, but Moriggl has been here for much longer. The Autonomous Province of South Tyrol, who owned the hotel at the time, had issued an invitation to tender, and was looking for a provider in the sanitation and electrics sector who could cover all of the requirements for all of the necessary maintenance work. In this case, the contract was awarded to Moriggl, who was able to meet all of the requirements more than sufficiently.
2) What work did Moriggl carry out for you, and are you satisfied with the results?
Every year, Moriggl has a contract and a maintenance contract with us, which primarily covers the electrical work but also the lighting management. We have a lighting system that requires an awful lot of maintenance, as do the sanitary facilities. Moriggl installed the heat exchanger for us at a later date, as well as the ventilation systems. These undergo constant maintenance, as major challenges occur each year and there are legally prescribed maintenance tasks that Moriggl carries out for us.
3) Would you recommend Moriggl?
I would certainly recommend Moriggl, as they provide an extremely wide range of services and cover all of the tasks that are required in a large building such as this one. Another important factor for us is that the company is situated in the Merano region, and not too far from the Vinschgau Valley either, so can be on-site relatively quickly.
