1) Please give a brief outline of your company.
I'm actually a freight forwarder by profession. Our company was founded in 1880, when this art nouveau house was built here in the centre of Meran, forming the headquarters of our company. We had the idea of constructing a very high-quality residential complex here, and wanted to combine the old and the new. For this reason, we needed the approval and permission from the federal advisory committee for architecture in order to combine old and new architecture. We decided to fit the entire house with state-of-the-art technology, which is why we connected it to a geothermal system: We have 17 drill holes to a depth of 120 metres, while the roof features both a photovoltaic system and a solar unit for hot water in order to achieve a high level of energy self-sufficiency. The whole thing was put together in a way that allowed us to construct a really special complex with a design that extends far beyond what would normally be seen in a single-family home. In terms of the design of the building, we agreed with the architects and structural engineers that rather than commissioning a single turnkey project, we wanted to commission the different trades separately to one another. The whole project was divided into 18 different trade areas, and calls for tender were issued.
2) How did you find out about Moriggl?
I had heard about Moriggl from their work on other buildings, but had not yet worked with them directly. We invited the company to bid for the tenders, and after the negotiation period that usually takes place in this sector, we opted for Moriggl, definitely not because it was the cheapest quote, but because the company had completely won us over.
3) Were you satisfied with the implementation and support you received?
I have to say that in hindsight, we are very happy that we made this decision, as the collaboration with Moriggl really has been just excellent.
